Courses will be offered in each of the following four categories:
Administration - For program administrators and directors. Classes in this concentration address administrative issues.
Relationships - For the school age teacher, worker or administrator. Classes in this concentration address relationships between the school age participant, their teacher, their parents, and other children.
Nutrition and Physical Activity - For the school age teacher or worker. Classes in this concentration highlight nutrition activities to share with school age children and provide demonstrations on physical activity programs.
Education - For the school age teacher or worker. Classes in this concentration offer curriculum ideas for the school age teacher or worker.
Course Offerings
First Session
*Administration: School Age Policies and Procedures - Administrators will learn various program policies and procedures needed in order to run safe summer programs
*Relationships: Stop Bullying Now! - This session will give participants tools to use to identify and correct bullying behavior
*Physical Activity: Zuumba Dance for Fitness - Participants will learn Zuumba moves to incorporate into their program
*Education: Incorporating Math and Science in Your School Age Program - This session will teach fun math and science activities to be used in the classroom
Second Session *Administration: Building a Solid Child Care Team - This session is for administrators and will give tools for building a strong team of school age professionals that will boost productivity and enhance programming
*Relationships: Teacher/Child Interaction - This session will highlight and demonstrate positive and effective teacher/child interactions
*Nutrition: CAN Fit - This session will go over nutrition labels and help identify healthy and unhealthy foods and snacks
*Education: Creative Arts- This course will provide activities to be used in the classroom centered on arts and crafts
