Jobs for High shoolers and College students

Project SYNCERE is Hiring High School and College Students ASAP!

Project SYNCERE is a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Organization whose mission is to increase the number of minority, female, and under-served students who pursue careers in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) fields. Since its incorporation in 2008, Project SYNCERE has served more than 1000 students across the Chicago area.

The State of Illinois Department of Natural Resources Youth Recreation Corps recently granted us funds to hire students who are citizens of the State of Illinois and who, at the time of hiring, between 16 - 19 years of age. The work will commence mid-July and go through the end of August, Monday - Friday, 9 am -3pm.

We have 8 slots available. Those hired will have an opportunity to assist with curriculum development, project kit preparation, in-class program instruction, and administrative support. Ultimately, these students will benefit from the mentoring our experienced staff will offer them for a lifetime. Candidates should either have an interest in engineering or education.

All positions are part-time and pay is dependent upon the grant allocation. To apply for any of these positions, please email your letter of interest including, your date of birth, any work experience (resume if you have one already), hobbies, career goals, and why you think you would be perfect for this opportunity to jobs@projectsyncere.org. The deadline is Wednesday, July 13th.

Work to recruit new teachers

Lighthouse Academies is seeking a part-time Recruitment Assistant to work on the Recruitment Team. This person will work to help recruit new educators. The position takes place at their Bronzeville campus. It is for about 10 hours a week and would be a great role for a grad student looking for a part-time job.
